Coinbase Puts Six Pairs in Time-Out, Swings August 6 Axe Without Sniffles 📉
Coinbase Markets will suspend trading for six cryptocurrency pairs on August 6, 2026, following a routine review of market quality and trading activity. The affected pairs are LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT, the exchange announced.
Five of the six pairs — MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT — have already been moved to limit-only mode across Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. In this stage, users can place and cancel limit orders, existing orders may still match, and market orders are no longer accepted. LSETH-ETH was not included in the limit-only phase.
Coinbase said the suspension is part of its regular review process to ensure listed markets continue meeting its trading standards. The exchange stated it monitors liquidity and order book depth across all supported markets and may remove pairs with limited activity to maintain efficient trading conditions and reduce wider spreads caused by low liquidity.
The action matches a pattern of delistings Coinbase has carried out in prior quarters as it tightens the list of supported markets. Coinbase has not indicated whether the affected tokens will be relisted or whether the tokens themselves will continue trading in other pairs.
Separately, Coinbase confirmed that its partnership with Circle, issuer of USDC, renews automatically under existing terms, and the exchange continues to expand its asset listings with the addition of BIO, BNKR and TREE. Coinbase Markets reiterated that trading suspensions and listing decisions are reviewed on an ongoing basis across its platforms.
