Nicholas Charriere, CEO of AI website builder Mocha, recorded his daughter and her toddler cousin chatting for more than an hour during the child's first overnight stay sharing a room and handed the audio to Claude, which transcribed the conversation, segmented it and titled each section. Topics surfaced under headings including "Stay Hydrated," "The Buggy Lake," "Match the Purple Dogg," "I'm a Big Boy" and "I Did Fart," and Charriere posted the resulting family webpage on August 2, writing "Pure joy from everyone" and "ai is pretty great." The original post drew 4,475 likes and a top reply that received 11,179 likes reading, "I'd hate my parents if I found out they did this. No respect for privacy. Those are people, not miniature versions of yourself made for the purpose of amusing you."

The criticism escalated quickly. One widely liked comment asked, "Why would you feed this into ai and then share it?" with the reply "My god," while another four-word verdict read "You are very dumb." History podcaster Mike Duncan wrote, "Why preserve the sanctity and privacy of late night sleepover chats when you can secretly record everything and feed into the AI slop machine and post about it." Charriere did not retract the project. Responding to a supportive user, he wrote, "The audio recording feels like a treasure.
