Bitget's BGBTC Upgrade: Bitcoin, Now With Daily Tips and a Side of Yield 🍽️

Bitget has rolled out a major upgrade to $BGBTC, a $BTC-pegged yield-enhanced asset issued by the exchange at a 1:1 ratio, introducing daily BTC-denominated rewards for holders alongside faster redemption and expanded platform utility. The exchange announced the changes on July 31, 2026, framing the product as a way to make idle Bitcoin work without forcing holders into separate yield strategies that sacrifice liquidity.

Under the new structure, $BGBTC holders can earn daily BTC rewards and benefit from large-volume, fast redemption, institutional-grade risk protections, and greater on-chain transparency. Bitget also listed integration points across its own trading, margin, loans, Launchpool, and PoolX services, positioning the token as a multi-utility balance rather than a single-purpose yield wrapper.

Bitget has integrated Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the canonical infrastructure for cross-chain distribution of $BGBTC, sitting alongside the platform's existing Chainlink Proof of Reserve (PoR) feed used for asset verification. According to the exchange, the combined stack is designed to keep the 1:1 BTC backing verifiable while making the token portable across supported networks.

The upgrade targets a longstanding trade-off for Bitcoin holders, who historically could either sit on $BTC with no native yield or move assets into external strategies that introduce added complexity or lockups. By baking rewards and redemption directly into $BGBTC, Bitget is pitching the token as a way to keep BTC exposure while accessing exchange-side utility. Bitget said the changes are intended to make $BGBTC more capital efficient, credible, and usable across blockchains for both retail and institutional participants.
