XRPL v3.3.0 Packs Privacy Punch, Batch Bash, and Five Amendments Looking for Validator High-Fives
The XRP Ledger is preparing for its next software iteration, with RippleX Head of Product Jazzi Copper outlining five proposed amendments slated for the upcoming xrpld 3.3.0 release. Copper disclosed the contents on X, stating the update is expected to ship next week, though the changes only take effect following validator approval.
Copper framed the package around expanding real-world utility for tokenized assets on the ledger. "XRPL has already proven it can support tokenized assets at scale," she wrote. "Now it's time to put these assets to use: global transfers, trading, collateralizing, and settling." She added that the upcoming release "includes five amendments that move XRPL significantly closer to that goal."
Among the proposals is the Confidential MPT amendment, which combines elliptic-curve encryption with zero-knowledge proofs to enable native privacy for Multi-Purpose Tokens. Under the design, issuers and token holders can keep balances and transfer amounts confidential, while designated auditors or regulators retain the ability to inspect transaction details when required. Copper noted, "For financial institutions, privacy is often a prerequisite for using public blockchain infrastructure."
The Batch amendment is also part of the package, allowing multiple transactions across various accounts to be processed together rather than individually, a change aimed at streamlining throughput on the network. The release is expected to ship next week, with enforcement of each amendment contingent on the validators reaching the required approval threshold on the XRP Ledger.
