AMLBot's AI Tracer Maps the Money, Misses the Motive 🕵️
Crypto forensics and compliance firm AMLBot has rolled out a self-service blockchain analysis tool called AI Tracer that maps visible fund movements from a single transaction hash across multiple networks. The company said the product is designed to remove the need for specialist software or specialized expertise when following the path of a transaction.
According to a press release shared with Cointelegraph, AI Tracer automatically traverses the transaction graph, follows funds from the starting address through intermediate wallets to the endpoint, and matches known entity labels — including exchanges, services and flagged addresses — against every wallet it encounters. The tool also traces assets moved across blockchains via bridges and tracks funds split among multiple wallets.
Supported networks at launch include Bitcoin ($BTC), Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, TRON, Ethereum ($ETH), BNB Chain, Ethereum Classic, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Solana, Cardano and Ripple. AMLBot said the tool serves journalists, researchers, traders and crypto users who want to read transaction paths, as well as law enforcement agents investigating crypto crime and independent investigators or compliance teams.
The announcement is explicit about the tool's limits. AI Tracer cannot see transfers between internal exchange accounts, determine why a payment was made, freeze assets or guarantee recovery, and its reports are intended as a starting point for investigations rather than a substitute for an audit or legal process. AMLBot offers a free check alongside paid plans with higher limits on the number of automated checks.
The launch comes against the backdrop of AMLBot's own case data: the company said social engineering drove 65% of the crypto cases it probed in 2025, underscoring the demand for accessible tracing tools aimed at users who would otherwise lack specialist resources.
