Aviva Investors Goes On-Chain: $XRP Ledger Lands Its First Tokenized Liquidity Fund 🇬🇧💼
Aviva Investors, the London-based asset management arm of Aviva plc, has launched a tokenized share class of its USD Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger ($XRP) in partnership with Ripple, marking the first tokenization of an Aviva Investors fund structure. The rollout follows the partnership both firms announced earlier this year to advance tokenization activity on the XRPL and represents Ripple's first collaboration with a European investment firm aimed at tokenizing real-world assets at scale.
According to a press release from Aviva Investors, the new tokenized share class digitizes portions of the firm's existing USD Liquidity Fund on the XRPL, enabling fund activity to be recorded and settled on a public distributed ledger. The move builds on Aviva Investors' broader multi-asset and liquidity management offerings and positions the firm alongside a growing list of traditional asset managers exploring on-chain fund structures.
The tokenization infrastructure supporting the launch is being handled by crypto custodian Komainu and a digital asset platform, both of which were disclosed as service providers in the announcement. The press release stated that the deployment "marks the first tokenisation of an Aviva Investors fund," confirming the fund's status as the firm's inaugural on-chain product.
Ripple has been expanding its enterprise tokenization footprint throughout 2025, with prior XRPL-based initiatives spanning treasury operations, payment corridors, and real-world asset issuance. The Aviva Investors fund adds a regulated European money-market product to that pipeline, complementing earlier XRPL tokenization work with institutions in other jurisdictions.
The launch arrives as global asset managers accelerate tokenization strategies for money-market and liquidity products, with industry surveys indicating that a majority of large institutional investors are either piloting or evaluating on-chain fund structures. Aviva Investors' entry into the segment via the XRPL places the firm among the early cohort of European managers to convert an existing liquidity fund into a live tokenized offering.
