XRPL Upgrade Goes Live: 85% Said Yes, 15% Still Reading the Patch Notes 🛠️

The XRP Ledger's fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment activated on mainnet after securing support from 30 of 35 trusted validators, an 85.71% consensus, according to XRPScan data cited by CoinGape. Five validators voted against the proposal, pushing the network past the threshold required to bring the protocol-level fix online.

XRPScan confirmed the activation and noted that XRPL version 3.2.0 is now the minimum version required for mainnet compatibility. In a statement, XRPScan said, "The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment is now active. With this, all nodes running version 3.1.0 and below are amendment blocked until they upgrade to 3.2.0. Please take action to ensure service continuity." Operators running software versions below 3.2.0 face immediate disruption unless they upgrade.

Adoption of the new release has moved quickly across the network. As of the latest figures, 103 validators are running version 3.2.0, representing 68.67% of all validators, alongside 543 nodes on the same build, or 64.26% of all nodes. Version 3.1.3 continues to run on 37 validators (24.67%) and 268 nodes (31.72%), indicating that a significant share of operators has migrated while others remain on the prior release.

An XRPL dUNL validator flagged the milestone on social media, writing: "fix amendment for the XRP Ledger just went live, now XRPL 3.2.0 is the new min version for main net." The validator added that the XRP Ledger continues to advance its core protocol infrastructure with the rollout, framing the upgrade as a routine but consequential step for node operators and integrators.

The amendment is part of the network's ongoing maintenance cycle, which has historically bundled performance fixes, consensus adjustments and minor protocol cleanups into named releases. CoinGape reported that the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment represents another technical update within that cadence, with validators coordinating the changeover through the standard amendment voting process. Ripple, which maintains close ties to the XRP Ledger developer community, has backed the broader upgrade track.
