OSL Gives Hong Kong Retail Investors the Keys to XRP, But Still Says No Memecoins

OSL Group's (HKEX: 863) subsidiary OSL Digital Securities launched retail XRP trading on July 29, 2026, becoming the first Securities and Futures Commission-licensed platform in Hong Kong to offer everyday investors direct spot access to the token. The listing was confirmed by OSL HK on X and settles on the XRP Ledger, adding XRP to a retail roster that already includes Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana.

At launch, retail clients can access Flash Trade XRP/USD and OTC XRP/USD and XRP/HKD pairs, all native to the XRP Ledger. The expansion builds on OSL's December 2025 rollout, which restricted XRP to professional investors and high-net-worth clients through the same Flash Trade pairs.

The debut comes as XRP spot exchange-traded funds recorded $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows and real-world assets on the XRP Ledger crossed $4 billion. OSL did not announce any additional retail tokens alongside the launch, keeping its approved list at four assets.

The platform's opening of retail access marks a shift from Hong Kong's earlier professional-only framework for XRP and places OSL ahead of other SFC-licensed venues in the city for retail spot availability of the asset.
