BitSafe Open-Sources the Plumbing Canton Builders Used to Reinvent 🧱

BitSafe has launched the public beta of Decentralization Manager, an open-sourced framework designed to let institutions build decentralized financial applications on Canton Network without recreating core infrastructure from scratch. The release is backed by a Canton Foundation Development Fund grant of more than $1 million, denominated as 8,500,000 $CC, and the underlying code has been independently audited by Quantstamp.

The framework ships with pre-built components for token issuance, custody and multi-party authorization, addressing institutional requirements for audit trails and distributed trust. BitSafe said Decentralization Manager is aimed at letting development teams focus on application logic rather than threshold custody, governance and audit systems. According to the company, the first live use case is CBTC, described as the first non-native asset on Canton, which has processed more than 10 million transactions to date and already shares a portion of Canton fees with its node operators. Decentralization Manager extends that node-operator and fee-sharing model to additional applications built on the network.

Palladium Labs was named as the first announced builder using the framework, deploying it to enable multi-party authorization for protocol operations on its Alpend credit infrastructure. "The future of institutional blockchain depends on making sophisticated infrastructure easier to build and adopt," said Viv Diwakar, Head of the Canton Foundation, adding that open-sourcing the tool gives developers the means to create resilient, privacy-preserving applications that distribute trust across independent operators. "Distributed trust and full auditability are table stakes for institutional-grade credit infrastructure like Alpend," said Akshay Sinha, Cofounder and CTO of Palladium Labs, noting that Decentralization Manager makes that capability a reusable framework for the broader Canton ecosystem. BitSafe said additional builders are now able to apply to launch decentralized applications and assets using the public beta.
