Cathie Wood's ARK Invest added roughly $22.78 million in Tesla ($TSLA) and SpaceX-linked Space Exploration Technologies Corp. ($SPCX) stock on Monday, July 27, even as Elon Musk reiterated warnings that artificial intelligence could surpass the collective intelligence of the human brain within five years. The purchases were disclosed in ARK's latest trade filings.

ARK acquired 27,864 shares of Tesla across two of its actively managed ETFs, valued at approximately $8.62 million based on the day's closing price of $309.22. The ARK Innovation ETF ($ARKK) led the buying with 18,730 shares worth about $5.79 million, while the ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF ($ARKQ) added 9,134 shares valued at roughly $2.82 million.

In a larger transaction, ARK raised its stake in Space Exploration Technologies Corp. with 124,543 shares worth about $14.14 million at the $113.50 closing price for $SPCX. $ARKK purchased 78,031 shares valued at nearly $8.86 million, $ARKQ bought 25,442 shares for approximately $2.89 million, and the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF ($ARKW) acquired 10,369 shares for roughly $1.18 million.

The buying activity arrived the same day Musk publicly cautioned that AI would outpace the combined cognitive capacity of humanity within roughly five years, a recurring theme in his recent public comments. ARK's filings show the firm has consistently added to positions tied to Musk-led companies, which include Tesla and the privately held SpaceX.

ARK Invest, founded by Cathie Wood, manages a suite of thematic ETFs including $ARKK, $ARKQ and $ARKW. The latest transactions bring ARK's combined Monday exposure to $TSLA and $SPCX to approximately $22.78 million, according to the trade disclosure.
