Ripple Drops the Mints: New Platform Serves RLUSD on Tap for Institutions 🍃
Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a unified platform designed to give institutions streamlined access to its US dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), the company announced Thursday. The platform supports minting, redemption and management of RLUSD through both a web interface and direct application programming interface (API) integrations, enabling manual workflows and automated operations alike.
"Ripple Mint is built to give institutions flexible access to digital dollars through the workflows that fit their needs," Ripple said. The company added that the product is intended to serve institutions adopting stablecoins for trading, payments and treasury management, use cases it described as an increasingly important asset class.
RLUSD is issued under Standard Custody & Trust Company LLC, a trust company chartered by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). Ripple described the structure as regulated and built to offer the transparency and oversight required by institutional customers.
The stablecoin launched in December 2024 with an institutional focus, though it has also drawn retail adoption. According to CoinGecko, RLUSD reached an all-time high market capitalization on June 1, 2026, when it surpassed $1.8 billion. Around the Ripple Mint announcement, the token's market cap moved from roughly $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion before settling near $1.59 billion. At the time of publication, RLUSD ranked as the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization.
