Ripple Mints a New Front Door for Institutions 🚪
Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a unified platform designed to give institutions streamlined access to its Ripple USD ($RLUSD) stablecoin for minting, redeeming and managing the token. The product was announced by Ripple on July 23, 2026, and is positioned to support both manual operations and automated integrations through web-based and direct API access.
The company framed the launch as a response to rising institutional demand for stablecoins used in trading, payments and treasury management. In its announcement, Ripple stated, "Ripple Mint is here – a unified way for institutions to access, mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD)," and added that the platform is "built for scale with both UI and API access," giving institutions the flexibility to automate stablecoin operations and integrate RLUSD into existing systems.
RLUSD is issued under Standard Custody & Trust Company LLC, a trust company chartered by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). Ripple described the structure as "regulated," emphasizing that it provides the transparency and oversight institutional clients require. The company has consistently promoted RLUSD as a dollar-pegged stablecoin aimed at enterprise and cross-border payment use cases.
With Ripple Mint, institutional users will be able to mint and redeem RLUSD on demand and manage holdings through automated workflows tied into their internal infrastructure. The platform is intended to reduce operational friction for banks, payment firms and corporate treasury teams seeking to incorporate stablecoins into day-to-day financial activity.
Ripple's latest move comes as competition in the regulated stablecoin market continues to intensify, with multiple issuers racing to attract institutional liquidity. By consolidating minting, redemption and lifecycle management into a single platform, Ripple is signaling its intent to position RLUSD as a core piece of infrastructure for institutional digital asset strategies.
