Galaxy Goes Galactic: GLXY Snags Texas Tech Stadium Naming Rights for 15 Years 🚀
Galaxy Digital has signed a 15-year naming rights agreement with Texas Tech University, rebranding the Red Raiders' football venue as Galaxy Stadium beginning with the 2026 season opener on September 5. The deal, announced in a press release, makes the crypto firm the official AI, crypto and data center partner of the Texas Tech athletics department. The company said the agreement "will create a new revenue stream at a monumental period for Texas Tech, which is coming off a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance." Galaxy Digital is led by Mike Novogratz.
The partnership mirrors a similar move by Ripple, which recently entered a crypto partnership with the Kansas Jayhawks, signaling a broader push by digital asset firms into U.S. college athletics. Under the terms, Galaxy Digital's branding will be featured throughout the stadium and across Texas Tech athletics properties, though additional financial and structural details of the multi-year arrangement were not disclosed in the release.
Shares of GLXY were down more than 5% following the announcement, according to market data. Galaxy Digital has not issued additional public comment on the stock movement or the strategic rationale beyond the official press statement. The firm continues to expand its footprint at the intersection of crypto, artificial intelligence and traditional sports partnerships.
