Truth Social goes Wall Street's official API: now $BTC trades on a Truth, not a tweet 📈

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is launching a paid data product called Truth API that gives financial institutions licensed, real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking Truth Social accounts, the company said Thursday. The service is targeted to be available to institutional customers from Aug. 1, 2026, and is positioned as a low-latency, machine-readable feed aimed at high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms, news organizations and other companies that track fast-moving political and market information. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn framed the launch in market terms, saying, "Markets already move on Truth Social posts." He added that "Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform's most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream."

The product is designed to replace unauthorized data scraping with an officially licensed feed, according to TMTG. "Companies have previously tried to scrape data from Truth Social, which is in violation of its terms of service," McGurn said, according to CNN. "We're going to create a lot of friction for those folks that aren't coming to us directly," he added. The company said subscribers will receive "immediate, verified access" to posts from the most influential accounts on the platform, including those of US President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Truth Social posts from Trump have repeatedly moved financial markets, with recent examples tied to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US, the company said. TMTG framed the API as part of a broader push to build recurring revenue beyond advertising and subscriptions, even as the CLARITY Act faces delays related to Trump's involvement. Other major social media platforms already sell API access to financial firms and data companies, and hedge funds, trading desks and financial media groups commonly use such feeds to monitor public posts that can affect stocks, commodities, currencies and crypto markets. The pricing structure, specific latency targets and full customer list for Truth API were not disclosed.
