Trump Media Opens Truth Social's Vault to Wall Street—Finally Pays for the Posts 📈

—By our Markets Desk2 min read

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is launching a paid Truth Social data service called the Truth API, giving financial firms licensed, real-time access to posts from the platform's highest-ranking accounts, including handles closely tracked by traders and newsrooms. The product targets financial services companies, news organizations, and other firms that monitor fast-moving political and market-moving information.

Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the service is designed to replace unauthorized scraping with a licensed feed that offers faster access to platform data. "Markets already move on Truth Social posts," McGurn said, pointing to the market significance of content published on the platform. The Truth API will provide customers with "immediate, verified access" to Truth Social posts, according to the company.

TMTG said it plans to use the product to build recurring revenue beyond advertising and subscriptions, even as the CLARITY Act faces delays connected to President Trump's involvement. Other social media platforms already sell API access to financial firms and data companies, with hedge funds, trading desks, and financial media groups commonly using these feeds to monitor public posts that may affect equities, commodities, currencies, and crypto markets including $BTC and $ETH.

The launch comes amid ongoing ethics concerns because Trump frequently uses Truth Social to post official government updates, raising questions about how licensed access to those posts could affect market participants who subscribe to the feed.
