XRP Ledger Bug-Fix Amendment Hits 82% Yes-Votes, Two-Week Countdown Now Loading 🔧

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk1 min read

A bundled bug-fix amendment on the XRP Ledger has cleared the validator threshold and entered its two-week activation window, according to network governance rules. The amendment, fixCleanup3_2_0, is currently supported by 82.86% of validators, with 29 voting in favor and 6 against, surpassing the required 80% approval margin needed to advance toward mainnet activation.

The amendment was introduced alongside XRPL version 3.2.0 but remained flagged as not enabled even after receiving validator backing. Under XRP Ledger governance rules, an amendment must maintain at least 80% validator support continuously for two weeks before it can be activated. If consensus drops below that threshold during the countdown, the timer resets.

XRP Ledger validator Vet shared the update on X, noting that the amendment has entered its 2-week activation phase and that node operators will need to update their software to remain compatible once the changes go live. fixCleanup3_2_0 is described as a cleanup package rather than a feature upgrade, bundling multiple protocol adjustments aimed at improving the reliability of functionality already present in version 3.2.0, including fixes for precision and rounding issues. The exact scope and final changes will take effect once the activation period concludes without a drop in support.
