OpenAI Taps Kalshi for World Cup Odds, ChatGPT Now Does Its Own Score Predictions ⚽
OpenAI has begun surfacing Kalshi's prediction market odds for FIFA World Cup matches inside ChatGPT search results, according to a report by The New York Times, marking what the report described as the company's first known partnership with a prediction market platform. The integration had not been publicly announced at the time of publication. Kalshi declined to comment, and OpenAI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The feature displays Kalshi-based market odds as graphics when users query specific matchups. According to the report, a ChatGPT search for France versus Spain showed France with a 59% chance of winning, while a query on England versus Argentina displayed a 55% chance for England, with the forecast sourced from Kalshi. OpenAI's guidance, as cited by the report, indicates the integration is informational only and does not allow users to place bets through ChatGPT.
Kalshi operates as a regulated prediction market where users trade contracts tied to real-world events, including economic indicators, politics and sports. Dune Analytics data shows Kalshi recorded more than $33 billion in monthly notional volume in June 2026, roughly $22 billion ahead of rival Polymarket. Earlier coverage reported that Kalshi's June trading volume exceeded $9 billion amid World Cup-driven activity.
Prediction market data has moved into a wider set of consumer products over recent months. Kalshi announced partnerships with CNN and CNBC in December 2025 to integrate its market data into their coverage, while Polymarket partnered with Dow Jones in January 2026 to surface its data across products including The Wall Street Journal. Google integrated prediction market data from Kalshi and Polymarket into Google Finance and Search products in November 2025.
