Robinhood Chain Posts 7.6M Daily Txs, Plays 90-Day "Gas? I Hardly Know Her" Promo 🚀

—By our Exchanges & Companies Desk2 min read

Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Ethereum Layer-2 network, processed 7.6 million transactions in a single day just 11 days after its July 1 mainnet launch, putting it within reach of Coinbase's Base, which logged 9.2 million transactions on the same day, according to on-chain data from MSBIntel verified by Token Terminal. Daily protocol fees on Robinhood Chain stood at approximately $4,000 during the period.

The growth is being driven by a 90-day gas subsidy in which Robinhood covers all network fees for users, effectively bringing the cost of transacting to near zero. The subsidy has attracted retail traders, DeFi participants, and memecoin activity, helping Robinhood Chain flip Base to the No. 2 position on Uniswap with more than $500 million in single-day volume.

HOOD shares traded at $111.97 as investors looked ahead to Robinhood's Q2 earnings release in early August, the first quarterly report set to include live mainnet activity from the new chain. Launched on July 1, Robinhood Chain operates as a Layer-2 network built on Arbitrum technology and is positioned as part of the company's broader push into crypto infrastructure beyond its trading app.

The convergence in transaction counts between Robinhood Chain and Base comes as the Layer-2 sector continues to compete on user activity and fee economics across the Ethereum ecosystem, with multiple networks vying for retail volume and DeFi liquidity.
