Bitcoin Has Sat in the $60K–$70K Box for 307 Days and Refuses to Send a Postcard

By our Markets Desk2 min read

Bitcoin has spent 307 days hovering in the $60,000-$70,000 corridor, making it the third longest consolidation inside any $10,000 price band in the asset's history, according to Glassnode data reported on July 10, 2026. Only the $10,000-$20,000 and $20,000-$30,000 stretches, both products of the 2018 and 2022 bear markets respectively, have run longer. Bitcoin (BTC $64,332.57) was trading near $64,000 as of publication, still roughly 50% below the all-time high reached in October.

From a technical standpoint, BTC continues to trade above its 200-week moving average, a level currently sitting around $62,873. Historically, sustained moves beneath that threshold have been short lived, which is why it remains a closely watched gauge of the long-term trend. The 200-week MA has repeatedly functioned as a dividing line between cyclical drawdowns and renewed upside, and price is currently holding above it.

Onchain data points to a dense pocket of support nearby. Glassnode's Entity-Adjusted UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD), which logs the price at which bitcoin last moved between economic entities, shows that roughly 6% of the circulating supply last changed hands between $58,000 and $64,000. That cluster represents one of the largest cost-basis concentrations in BTC's history and lines up neatly with current spot pricing, giving the range a clear anchor beneath the market.

Whether the multi-month sideways grind ultimately breaks higher or lower remains an open question. What is no longer in dispute is that the repeated tests between $60,000 and $70,000 have welded that zone into bitcoin's on-chain memory, with the next decisive move likely to draw a line under how patient this particular consolidation has already been.
