Bitget Levels Up CFDs With Copy Trading and a Margin System That Actually Thinks in Tiers 🧱

—By our Exchanges & Companies Desk2 min read

Bitget has rolled out a broad update to its Contracts for Difference (CFD) trading platform, adding in-screen copy trading functionality and a tiered margin framework designed to scale capital requirements with position size. The exchange said the changes apply across multiple asset classes, including foreign exchange, commodities, precious metals and stock indices.

Under the new setup, users can access the copy trading feature directly from the CFD trading interface, removing the need to navigate to a separate screen. A Popular Traders panel now appears on every CFD page for every supported instrument, offering visibility into trader performance metrics from within the trading workflow.

Bitget has also revised how margin requirements are calculated. The tiered margin framework adjusts capital requirements based on the size and exposure of a position, a structural shift from the exchange's previous single-tier approach. The company framed the change as a response to traders diversifying across asset classes and increasing position complexity.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said, "As more traders diversify across markets, the trading experience needs to become simpler without sacrificing transparency or risk management. Accessing market information, evaluating experienced traders and managing positions should happen within the same workflow." She added, "Capital requirements should also reflect the size of a position. These updates make CFD trading efficient while giving users greater clarity over how they deploy capital and manage risk."

The update arrives as crypto-native exchanges continue to push deeper into traditional leveraged products such as CFDs, which let users speculate on price movements without holding the underlying asset. Bitget's latest release positions the platform to compete with both crypto derivatives venues and conventional retail brokerages by converging multi-asset access with social trading tools within a single interface.

The exchange did not disclose a specific rollout date for the new CFD features, and the tiered margin framework is now live across all supported CFD instruments on the platform.
