XRP Ledger Hits 55% Validator Adoption on v3.2.0 — The Upgrade Is Basically Knocking 🪪
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is approaching a full xrpld v3.2.0 upgrade after more than 55% of trusted validators began running the latest software version, according to XRPL Explorer data. The network is currently voting on an attached fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment that would formalize the transition.
XRPL Explorer figures show 84 validators, or 55.63% of the validator set, are operating on v3.2.0, while 353 network nodes, representing 42.12%, have been upgraded. The previous v3.1.3 release remains active on 58 validators (38.41%) and 440 nodes (52.51%). The upgrade requires approval from over 80% of trusted validators sustained for two consecutive weeks, meaning roughly 25% more validators must migrate to v3.2.0 for successful implementation.
On the XRP Ledger, trusted validators are empowered to approve protocol changes, with normal nodes following the lead of the trusted validator set. The v3.2.0 release includes infrastructure improvements, bug fixes, and developer enhancements across the network. Among the most notable changes is the official renaming of the main server software from rippled to xrpld under the XLS-0095 proposal. Starting June 15, the upgrade affected configuration paths, server metadata, database directories, and version identifiers across deployments.
The amendment vote and rising validator participation mark the final procedural step before the protocol change can be activated. Until the 80% threshold is met and sustained for the required two-week window, v3.2.0 remains in an adoption phase rather than a fully enabled network state. Operators continuing to run v3.1.3 will need to upgrade their server software to remain aligned with the latest protocol specifications once the amendment is approved.
XRP Ledger developers and node operators have tracked the rollout through on-chain validator metrics, with the steady climb past the halfway mark signaling momentum toward completion. The current
