XRPL Validators Hit 55% on v3.2.0 — Rippled Gets a Renaming Glow-Up 🪞
Validator adoption for the XRP Ledger v3.2.0 upgrade has climbed to 55.63%, with 84 trusted validators now running the latest software, according to XRPL Explorer data. Network-wide, 353 nodes, or 42.12%, have migrated to the new release, while v3.1.3 continues to operate on 58 validators (38.41%) and 440 nodes (52.51%). The network is currently voting on an attached fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment tied to the upgrade.
On the XRP Ledger, trusted validators are responsible for approving protocol changes, with normal nodes following their lead. A network upgrade requires support from more than 80% of trusted validators over two consecutive weeks. With current adoption at 55.63%, the upgrade needs approximately 25% more validators to migrate before the threshold is met.
Version 3.2.0 brings infrastructure improvements, bug fixes, and developer-focused enhancements. One of the most significant changes is the official renaming of the main server software from rippled to xrpld, introduced under the XLS-0095 proposal. The shift took effect on June 15 and affected configuration paths, server metadata, database directories, and version reporting across the network. The version designation on the server software itself was also updated from 3.1.3 to 3.2.0.
The renaming was implemented alongside the broader update to consolidate branding around the XRP Ledger name and to align tooling and documentation with the protocol's public identity. The XLS-0095 proposal, which drove the change, was put forward as part of ongoing efforts to streamline developer experience and reduce naming ambiguity across the ecosystem.
Validators and node operators are continuing to upgrade ahead of the two-week voting window's conclusion. Until the 80% threshold is reached and maintained, the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment and the wider v3.2.0 transition remain pending formal activation on the XRP Ledger.
