Sole XRP Holder Walks Into Aussie Parliament, Doges Bitcoin Entirely 🇦🇺
Australian Labor MP Sally Sitou listed XRP as her sole cryptocurrency holding in the country's Register of Members' Interests, with the filing executed through local exchange CoinSpot. The disclosure identifies the asset as "Cryptocurrency (Ripple)," with no $BTC or $ETH included in the parliamentary record of one of the world's 15 largest economies.
The same filing shows Sitou holds physical gold through ABC Bullion alongside a diversified portfolio of Australian and U.S. equities, including Commonwealth Bank, BHP, Meta Platforms and Costco. XRP is the only digital asset recorded in her declared interests.
The disclosure comes within the same week that a White House War Room Director also reported XRP holdings on Coinbase, placing the token on official records across two governments in seven days. XRP's parliamentary appearance in Australia follows the April 2026 passage of the country's Digital Assets Framework Bill, which requires exchanges and tokenized custody providers to obtain an Australian Financial Services License. Ripple is already pursuing that license, an early step toward operating inside Australia's regulated market. Australia's regulatory posture has shifted significantly as policymakers and lawmakers increase their engagement with digital assets.
