ARB longs learn the 100:1 rule the hard way as $750K gets liquidated 🪦

—By our Altcoins & Tokens Desk2 min read

Arbitrum's $ARB slipped into double-digit losses over the past 24 hours, trading roughly 96% below its all-time high as bearish pressure mounted across both on-chain and off-chain readings. The token's near-term outlook weakened as deep selling signals converged, with the sharpest read coming from the perpetual futures market.

Liquidation data showed long traders absorbing $750,730 in forced closures over the period, against just $7,480 in losses for short positions. The roughly 100-to-1 imbalance indicated the market moved firmly against bullish bets, with longs losing close to $100 for every $1 wiped from shorts. The liquidation heatmap, however, still showed unfilled liquidity clusters sitting above the press-time price, a setup that could pull the token higher if those levels are reached. The downside case remained dominant, with targets near $0.074 if selling continues, and a potential slide toward $0.073, the level ARB last touched on 6th June, should pressure keep building.

On-chain flows reinforced the bearish read. Stablecoins have left Arbitrum faster than they have entered it since 15th June, with only a single day of net inflows recorded over that stretch. Outflows totaled $236.48 million against $45.58 million in inflows, leaving a net outflow of $190.9 million from the chain. Network activity stalled over the same window, thinning the bullish case further.

Total value locked remained broadly flat, with no meaningful capital entering or leaving and the figure sitting near $1.285 billion, a pattern consistent with investors staying on the sidelines. On the price charts, ARB traded into a key support zone that has driven three separate rallies in the past, though indicators pointed to heavy selling at current levels instead. The accumulation/distribution reading showed holders steadily offloading ARB into the market, with total volume hitting 547.99 million ARB as the price declined on the charts.
