WhiteBIT EU Just Got Its MiCA Passport Stamped in Austria 🛂
WB-Shield Innovations GmbH, operating as WhiteBIT EU, has obtained authorization under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) in Austria, the company announced on June 19, 2026. The license was issued by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and clears the way for WhiteBIT EU to provide regulated crypto-asset services to eligible users across the European Economic Area, subject to applicable passporting, onboarding and regulatory requirements.
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, which WhiteBIT is part of, framed the authorization as central to the exchange's long-term European ambitions. "WhiteBIT was originally founded as a European exchange, and Europe remains at the core of our long-term vision," Nosov said. "With MiCA setting a global benchmark for digital asset regulation, this authorization reinforces our commitment to building a transparent, secure, and compliant crypto ecosystem for users across the region."
MiCAR establishes a harmonized EU framework for crypto-asset service providers, setting requirements for governance, transparency, client protection and market integrity. WhiteBIT EU said its Austrian authorization follows a substantive regulatory assessment in a jurisdiction recognized for established financial supervisory standards, consolidating the company's prior European efforts under a single regulatory framework for retail and institutional clients.
Alongside the license, WhiteBIT is preparing to launch whitebit.eu, a dedicated platform built specifically for EEA users and operating under the MiCA framework. The company said the site will serve as its regulated European hub, with a registration form already live for prospective users to receive updates as the platform becomes available.
WhiteBIT stated the announcement constitutes a marketing communication for the purposes of applicable regulations, and identified WB-Shield Innovations GmbH (WhiteBIT EU) as the entity authorized to provide crypto-asset services.
