Matt Damon Lands at Ripple Swell 2026, Apparently Bringing the Water Pressure
Hollywood actor and Water.org co-founder Matt Damon will speak at Ripple Swell 2026 alongside Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, the company confirmed. The conference is scheduled for October 27–29 at The Shed in Hudson Yards, New York City, and for the first time merges XRPL Apex, Ripple's developer summit, into a single three-day event, making it the largest Swell in the conference's history.
Organizers expect more than 1,500 attendees, 75+ speakers, 50+ sessions, and three simultaneous tracks targeting institutions, ecosystem builders, and emerging technology separately. The content agenda covers agentic finance, traditional finance adoption, real-world asset tokenization, cross-border payments, DeFi, interoperability, AI, and XRP Ledger utility. Other listed speakers include Ripple president Monica Long, Bullish CEO Tom Farley, and TradeWeb CEO Billy Hult.
Matt Damon's appearance is tied to Water.org's use of Ripple Payments and the RLUSD stablecoin to speed cross-border disbursements for clean water projects. According to Ripple, Water.org has mobilized $7.7 billion and reached 88 million people across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and Ripple joined the "Get Blue" campaign earlier this month to address the global water crisis.
Schwartz set the tone in a June 17 post on X, emphasizing payments, tokenization, DeFi, interoperability, and AI, with an explicit invitation to builders. Ripple opened registration on May 4, 2026, with early bird pricing set to end May 23. Separately, XRP price slipped as the Federal Reserve leaned hawkish, while derivatives markets recorded heavy buying sentiment into the event.
