LTC whales bulk up 7% in 5 months, yet the chart still flounders near $44

Wallets holding at least 10,000 LTC have climbed 7% over the past five months to 648, according to Santiment, even as Litecoin's price remains compressed near the low end of its range. The altcoin has traded between $40 and $44 for seven consecutive days after slipping to a $40 low, leaving the broader market in a holding pattern.

Accumulation from the largest holders has been steady. The stock-to-flow ratio, which tracks the amount of an asset held in reserve relative to new production, has climbed to a monthly high of 278, indicating more LTC has moved off exchanges than onto them. At the same time, daily active addresses have held around 300,000, with a two-week high of 287,000 recorded on June 12, according to Santiment.

Santiment Intelligence also pointed to fresh demand linked to LitVM, which uses a zkLTC wrapper to bring smart contract functionality to the Litecoin ecosystem. Community interest in the project has coincided with a gradual return of buyers, though price action has yet to respond.

Technically, the setup remains heavy. Litecoin has traded within a descending channel over the past month, and the Directional Movement Index shows the Average Directional Index at 55, the negative directional index at 30 and the positive directional index at 6, a combination that has historically preceded continued downside. If accumulation persists without a shift in momentum, LTC is likely to remain range-bound, though a break above $44 could put $50 in play.
