LG's New Chain Aims to Slay Ad Fraud; Arbitrum Bags the Receipts 📺

South Korean consumer electronics conglomerate LG has partnered with the Ethereum layer-2 network Arbitrum to build a dedicated blockchain for advertising, with plans to bring the platform to market later this year. The initiative, developed through LG's in-house blockchain research lab, was piloted with an unnamed Japanese ad agency before the company selected Arbitrum as its layer-2 partner.

According to a Fortune report, the new network will function as a shared database of ad inventory for advertisers and publishers, recording how customers have interacted with advertisements. The system is intended to give both sides a transparent view of ad delivery and consumer engagement, addressing long-standing inefficiencies in digital advertising workflows.

LG's Head of the Blockchain research department, Samuel Byungsun Park, said the company is evaluating whether the approach can deliver meaningful value to advertisers, publishers, and audiences. The research team is now focused on commercialization and on determining the best path for rolling out the ad platform to market in the coming months.

Arbitrum co-founder Steven Goldfeder said the new ad platform can help make the process of selling advertisements more efficient. "It means that we are able to allow them to do it much more programmatically, on a more efficient basis," Goldfeder said, referring to how publishers and advertisers transact. Arbitrum confirmed the partnership separately through its official channels.

Following the announcement, Arbitrum's native token $ARB posted a double-digit gain, though specific intraday price figures were not disclosed. The collaboration marks one of the most prominent consumer-electronics entries into the blockchain-based advertising space and adds a Fortune Global 500 brand to Arbitrum's growing roster of enterprise partners building on its layer-2 stack.
