Bitget Kicks Off Universal Cup With 250,000 USDT, Because Trading Is the New Penalty Shootout ⚽

Crypto exchange Bitget has launched the Universal Cup, a football-themed community campaign structured as a digital tournament with a combined 250,000 USDT prize pool. The campaign runs from June 11 through July 19 and is open to users globally, who will compete through a minigame that translates trading activity into goals scored for their selected nations.

Players can choose from 48 countries and participate in a penalty shootout challenge targeting three goalposts labeled crypto, stocks, and CFDs. Each successful trade on the Bitget platform counts as a score, contributing to both the individual player's leaderboard ranking and their country's overall standing. The campaign's theme, "Don't Just Watch. Rule the Game.," is positioned as a call for users to move from spectators to active participants.

The 250,000 USDT prize pool will not be distributed in a single payout. Rewards are unlocked progressively as players accumulate points and climb the leaderboards, a structure designed to encourage continued engagement throughout the tournament window. Bitget has also confirmed that users can continue playing individually even after their selected country is eliminated from the competition.

The Universal Cup forms part of Bitget's broader interactive trading game ecosystem, which the exchange has been expanding alongside its core spot and derivatives products. By tying trading volume to a sporting bracket, the campaign aims to convert competitive dynamics typically associated with global football tournaments into user activity on the platform.
